Iqra Montessori Terms and Conditions
1. Admission Policy
- Application Process: Prospective students must complete an application form and attend an interview with their parents or guardians. Admission is subject to availability and alignment with the school’s ethos.
- Age Requirements: Children aged 3 to 6 years are eligible for enrollment in the Montessori program.
- Non-Discrimination: Iqra Montessori admits students of any race, color, national, and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.
2. Health and Safety Policy
- Health Requirements: Parents must provide up-to-date medical records, including immunization records, upon enrollment.
- Illness Protocol: Children exhibiting symptoms of illness should be kept at home. In case of illness during school hours, parents will be notified to collect their child promptly.
- Medication Administration: The school will only administer medication with written consent from parents or guardians. All medications must be clearly labeled with the child’s name and dosage instructions.
- Hygiene Practices: Regular handwashing is encouraged, and facilities are cleaned daily to maintain a hygienic environment.
3. Bullying and Discrimination Policy
- Zero Tolerance: Iqra Montessori has a zero-tolerance policy towards bullying and discrimination.
- Reporting Mechanism: Students and parents are encouraged to report any incidents of bullying or discrimination to the school administration promptly.
- Resolution Process: All reports will be investigated thoroughly, and appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken to ensure a safe learning environment.
4. Attendance Policy
- Punctuality: Students are expected to arrive on time to maximize their learning experience.
- Absence Notification: Parents should inform the school of their child’s absence by 8:00 AM on the day of absence.
- Extended Absences: For planned extended absences, parents must notify the school in advance and make arrangements for missed work.
5. Code of Conduct
- Respect: Students are expected to show respect to peers, staff, and school property.
- Dress Code: A simple, comfortable dress code is encouraged to allow freedom of movement and participation in activities.
- Personal Belongings: The school is not responsible for lost or damaged personal items. It is recommended that valuable items are left at home.
6. Health and Safety Protocols
- Emergency Procedures: Regular drills will be conducted to prepare for emergencies such as fires or natural disasters.
- COVID-19 Guidelines: The school follows the Western Cape Education Department’s guidelines for managing COVID-19, including hygiene practices, mask-wearing, and social distancing as applicable.
7. Extracurricular Activities
- Field Trips: Parents will be notified in advance of any field trips. Written consent is required for student participation.
8. Financial Policy
- Tuition Fees: Fees are payable in advance, either monthly or per term, as per the fee schedule provided upon enrollment.
- Late Payments: A late fee may be applied to overdue accounts. Continued enrollment is contingent upon timely payment of fees.
- Withdrawal: A notice period of one term is required for withdrawal from the school. Failure to provide notice will result in the forfeiture of the deposit.
9. Parental Involvement
- Communication: Regular communication between parents and teachers is encouraged to support the child’s development.
- Volunteering: Parents are welcome to volunteer for school activities and events, subject to prior arrangement with the administration.
10. Amendments
- Policy Changes: Iqra Montessori reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions as necessary. Parents will be notified of any changes in writing.
